GT5 Spec 2.0 Update & DLC In October

News | Posted by Pesico

Gran Turismo 5 has seen lots of post-release support in the form of updates to the game as well as seasonal events. There hasn’t been much DLC yet, and it’s been a long time since we’ve seen any impactful updates. That’s about to change though.

@Kaz_Yamauchi 山内 一典 GT fans, thanks for waiting… The GT5 Spec 2.0 update is coming the 3rd week of October, with DLC following a week later. #gt5

Kazunori Yamauchi, creator of the Gran Turismo franchise tweeted earlier today that GT5 Spec 2.0 update will be coming in the 3rd week of October, followed one week later by DLC. Nothing else is known at this time, but hopefully it will be big.

But what does big mean? Will we see some new cars? New tracks? Some standard cars made into premium? Will it include trophies? It could be many things. I hope we’ll see little bit of everything. New tracks would be the most important thing, but it would definitely be sweet with some new cars and trophies to. Maybe some more A/B-Spec events to.

I can’t wait to hear more about what this will contain. I’m exited anyway!

Trophy List Preview: Uncharted 3 Drake’s Deception

Uncharted 3 went gold last week, and that also meant that the hunt for the trophy list was on. Bro Gamer Blog found it in an unlikely place. They played Uncharted 3 Multiplayer at EuroGamer Expo and they filmed the list.

And here is the full list, courtesy of Bro Gamer Blog:

Treasures Trophies – 7 trophies (6 Bronze, 1 Silver) – 120 points
First Treasure (Bronze) – Find one treasure
Apprentice Fortune Hunter (Bronze) – Find 10 treasures
Skilled Fortune Hunter (Bronze) – Find 40 treasures
Adept Fortune Hunter (Bronze) – Find 60 treasures
Expert Fortune Hunter (Bronze) – Find 80 treasures
Master Fortune Hunter (Silver) – Find 100 treasures
Relic Finder (Bronze) – Find the Strange Relic

They’ve used much less space for treasures than in the two other games. I think that is a good thing as it opens up for more interesting trophies. You still have to collect them all though. I will make video guides for them so you needn’t worry.

Combat Trophies – 24 trophies (17 Bronze, 7 Silver) – 465 points
Survivor (Silver) – Defeat 75 enemies in a row without dying
Combat Leapfrog (Silver) – Defeat 10 enemies in a row, alternating hand-to-hand combat and gunplay
20 Headshots (Bronze) – Defeat 20 enemies with headshots
100 Headshots (Silver) – Defeat 100 enemies with headshots
Headshot Expert (Bronze) – Defeat 5 enemies in a row with headshots
Side Arm Master (Bronze) – Defeat 30 enemies in a row with your side arm
Reload Master (Silver) – Defeat 50 enemies in a row without auto-reloading
Rolling Ammo Master (Silver) – 20 times in a row, pick up ammo while rolling
Blindfire Marksman (Bronze) – Defeat 20 enemies by blind-firing while in cover (without aiming with L1)
Run-and-Gunner (Bronze) – Defeat 20 enemies by shooting from the hip (without aiming with L1)
Hangman (Bronze) – Defeat 20 enemies with gunfire by aiming while hanging
Land Shark (Bronze) – Defeat 20 enemies while swimming
Pro-Pain (Bronze) – Defeat 10 enemies with propane of acetylene tank explosions
Dyno-Might Master (Silver) – Defeat 5 enemies with one explosion
Grenade Hangman (Bronze) – Defeat 10 enemies with grenades while hanging
Drop the Bomb Headshot (Bronze) – Make 5 enemies drop their grenades by shooting them
Throwback (Bronze) -Kill 10 enemies with thrown-back grenades
Throwback Master (Bronze) – Throw back a grenade and defeat two enemies at once
Bare-knuckle Brawler (Bronze) – Defeat 20 enemies with hand-to-hand combat
Bare-knuckle Slugger (Bronze) – Defeat 50 enemies with hand to hand combat
Master Ninja (Bronze) – Defeat 50 enemies with stealth attacks
Expert Ninja (Silver) – Defeat 5 enemies in a row using stealth attacks
Riot Rocker (Bronze) – Defeat 5 Riot Shield enemies by running over their shield
Brute Beater (Bronze) – Successfully counter all of a Brute’s damage-giving attacks

The big portion of this list is the combat trophies, and that’s not including the weapon trophies and a couple other trophies I decided to put in a different category. Most of this is the same as the previous two games, but there is a few new ones that hints at new features. Like the “Trhowback” and “Throwback Master” trophies where you have to throw back a grenade and defeat your enemies. Do that 10 times, plus kill two in one throw back to earn those two.

Weapon Trophies 12 trophies (12 Bronze) – 180 points
30 Kills: Mag 5 (Bronze) – Defeat 30 enemies with the Mag 5
30 Kills: Arm Micro (Bronze) – Defeat 30 enemies with the Arm Micro
30 Kills: TAU Sniper (Bronze) – Defeat 30 enemies with the Tau Sniper
30 Kills: KAL 7 (Bronze) – Defeat 30 enemies with the KAL 7
30 Kills: M9 (Bronze) – Defeat 30 enemies with the M9
30 Kills: G-MAL (Bronze) – Defeat 30 enemies with the G-MAL
30 Kills: SAS-12 (Bronze) – Defeat 30 enemies with the SAS-12
30 Kills: Dragon Sniper (Bronze) – Defeat 30 enemies with the Dragon Sniper
30 Kills: T-Bolt Sniper (Bronze) – Defeat 30 enemies with the T-Bolt Sniper
30 Kills: RPG7 (Bronze) – Defeat 30 enemies with the RPG-7
30 Kills: PAK-80 (Bronze) – Defeat 30 enemies with the PAK-80
30 Kills: Mk-NDI (Bronze) – Defeat 30 enemies with the Mk-NDI

The weapons trophies also makes a return. This time however you only need 30 kills for each of them. No 200 kills with the GAU trophy this time. I’m missing the Desert – 5 from the list, and sincerely hope the gun will be in the game. One of my favorite guns.

Miscellaneous Trophies 5 trophies (5 Bronze) – 75 points
Quick Study (Bronze) – Inspect every display case in the Cartagena Museum
Ride the Crocodile (Bronze) – Stand on the crocodile in the Secret Library
He’s Gonna Need a Sturgeon (Bronze) – Hit three enemies with fish in the market
Marco Solo (Bronze) – Play in the swimming pool on the Cruise Ship
Truck Brawler (Bronze) – Defeat 10 enemies using hand-to-hand combat on the back of the convoy trucks

This is the interesting part of the list. I like the do-random-stuff trophies in games, and this is a first in the Uncharted franchise. Some of the things you have to do in this category is to throw fish at enemies in the market, take a swim in a pool on a Cruise Ship and stand on top of a crocodile. Geez, I hope it ain’t alive when I’m gonna do that.

Difficulty Trophies 4 trophies (1 Bronze, 2 Silver, 1 Gold) – 165 points
Charted! – Easy (Bronze) – Finish the game in Easy Mode
Charted! – Normal (Silver) – Finish the game in Normal Mode
Charted! – Hard (Silver) – Finish the game in Hard Mode
Charted! – Crushing (Gold) – Finish the game in Crushing Mode

Just like the other two games. You’ll likely have to beat the game on hard first to unlock crushing and then beat it on crushing to get these four trophies. They stacked in the first two games, so they should do so this time around to.

Online Trophies 2 trophies (2 Bronze) – 30 points
Thrillseeker (Bronze) – Complete one Competitive Multiplayer game
Buddy System (Bronze) – Complete one Cooperative Multiplayer game

Also identical to Uncharted 2 are the online trophies. You only need to finish one competitive multiplayer game and a cooperative one and you are done with the online part as far as trophies are concerned.

The Platinum 180 points
Platinum (Platinum) – Platinum

The Platinum is always getting all the other trophies, so the only interesting part is the name and the design of the tile. Just like the other two games, it’s called Platinum. A little disappointing, but expected.

Trophy Point Summary
Bronze – 43 – 645 points
Silver – 10 – 300 points
Gold – 1 – 90 points
Platinum – 1 – 180 points
55 trophies – 1,215 points

The trophy list is what you expect from an Uncharted game. Combat related trophies are the biggest portion of it. The amount of treasure trophies have decreased to make room for other trophies, but you still have to collect all of them. At least there aren’t more treasures than the last game. 100 treasures are a solid amount though. The miscellaneous trophies where a nice addition, and adds some spice to an otherwise straightforward list.

As I did for the first two games, I will make a trophy guide, complete with videos for treasures and other select trophies. Still haven’t gotten all trophies in the previous games? Then take a look at my previous trophy guides.

NCIS Game Announced

Sep 21 2011

NCIS is easily my favorite TV Show, and season 9 got underway yesterday in USA. What better time to announce that on October 27th, assuming in USA due to this being a Tuesday, will see the release of NCIS, a game made for PS3, 360, PC and Wii.

I don’t expect this to be game of the year, as games based on TV shows rarely turn out that good, but this gets me really exited anyway. In NCIS The Game, or whatever it’s called, you’ll investigate crime scenes as Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David, conduct forensics analyses as Abby Sciuto, perform victim autopsies as Ducky, interrogate and break suspects as Gibbs and use satelite tracking as special agent McGee. There will be four episodes in the game, spanning exotic locales such as an Atlantic City Casino to a luxury hotel in Dubai. You’ll tasked to solve these four crimes, as well as solving an overarching plot line.

I really hope this game at least will be decent, and will bring with it the humor from the show. I’ll be all over this game when it comes out the week before Uncharted 3.
